Overview

Experience “a quiet adventure” exploring the rich history and culture of Japan and South Korea during the popular Cherry Blossoms Season 2027 on a 15-day adventure.

Itinerary 1 begins in vibrant Seoul, where you’ll embark on Norwegian Cruise Line’s luxurious Norwegian Spirit. Onboard, you’ll enjoy contemporary staterooms, complimentary dining options, magical evenings watching live entertainment and more.

Stop by South Korea's Jeju Island to see the dormant volcano Hallasan and marvel at one of the world's longest lava tubes at Manjang Cave. Once in Japan, visit Nagasaki's historical monuments and thriving culinary scene. In Kagoshima, you could explore the exquisite Iso-Teien Garden, built in 1660, and enjoy gorgeous views before a short ferry ride to Sakurajima volcano. In Hiroshima, see the most essential and breathtaking memorial in the world – the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park and Museum. In Koshi, discover Katsurahama Beach, where the Sakamoto Ryoma Memorial overlooks the sea.

Cruise into Kyoto (via Osaka), the cultural epicentre of Japan, where Buddhist temples, Shinto shrines and tranquil gardens await. Dock in Shimizu for a day of exploration, where you can visit the country’s first sushi museum and spot traditional Japanese wooden handicrafts under Mount Fuji's shadow. Disembark your cruise in the dynamic city of Tokyo, where you’ll enjoy three days of leisure exploring regal temples, neon city blocks, historic sites, and more.

Itinerary 2 reverses direction, beginning with a few days in Tokyo. Enjoy visits to Shimizu, Nagoya, Kyoto, Koshi, Hiroshima, Kagoshima, and Nagasaki, and then visit South Korea’s Jeju Island before disembarking in Seoul.

Discover the best of Japan and South Korea with return international full-service flights, a 9-night Norwegian Cruise Line cruise with a drinks package and specialty dining credits, onboard Wi-Fi, shore excursion credit, 4 nights of 4-star hotel accommodation, 26 meals and more.

Want more? Add extra days to your itinerary with Arrive Early and Stay Behind packages in Seoul, South Korea or Tokyo, Japan.

Please note: The cherry blossoms can be difficult to predict. Every year is different and there are variations across the country. What’s more, there are multiple sakura varieties, each coming into flower at a slightly different time and lasting for a different period (most stay for around two weeks). Therefore we cannot guarantee the trees will be blooming in locations visited on this itinerary. To increase the likelihood of cherry blossom viewings, we recommend booking dates later in March.

Other important information

TOUR GUIDE VS. TOUR LEADER
Tour Guide:
Often locals with intimate knowledge of an area, its culture, and history. Their role entails providing commentary, routing the tour, and seeing that people have a good time. They are a licensed, qualified expert who supplies specific information on the history, art, architecture and culture of the city/village/attraction where they are guiding the tour. The guide meets the group at the required place and leaves it at the end of the tour; they do not travel with the group.

Tour Leader:
An experienced person tasked with ensuring the smooth operation of tours, as well as providing practical support to passengers throughout the whole trip. Their role primarily includes assisting with accommodation, transportation between locations, and communication with tour guides at each stop. A tour leader may provide general guidance around a city or village and offer information on the place visited on the bus. However, they are not required to have specific art, architecture, or historical knowledge. They are not allowed to provide a guided tour or commentary of a city/village/attraction once there and, if caught doing so, can be fined.

Please note: Tour leaders/guides are not a standard inclusion in all travel offers. Tour leaders/guides will only be made available when required to enhance the experience of the destination featured.

Please note: If you have any concerns, please consult your healthcare provider prior to purchase/travel.

Yellow Fever:
A valid international certificate of vaccination against Yellow Fever is required in many countries. You may need to present this on arrival at the airport or border crossing. Some countries will refuse entry if you are unable to present your certificate. It's also common for your home country to request a Yellow Fever certificate upon arrival.
You must check with your doctor well before leaving home about the Yellow Fever requirements for the countries you'll be visiting.

Sightseeing :
Please note: If entry to a site is affected by changes in operating hours or public holiday closures, your itinerary, where possible, may be adjusted, or a similar activity will be offered in its place (subject to availability).

Shopping
Shopping overseas can be a daunting and confusing experience, especially when there is a language barrier. Please be very cautious when foreign currencies and prices are involved. If paying by credit card, please pay close attention to the amount you are being charged and keep all your receipts.
Do not make any purchases you are not comfortable with or feel pressured into. If you are uncertain or need assistance with the language barrier, please seek assistance from your Tour Guide/Leader.
Please refer to our Terms and Conditions regarding shopping for further information.
